University of the Basque Country (EHU-UPV)

Joseba Etxebeste

The Faculty of Education and Sports of the University of the Basque Country (EHU-UPV) has the objective, among the others, to to offer undergraduate, graduate and PhD training in the area of physical education and sport and in the area of learning and teaching in school, as well as the research in all those scientific fields. The learning and teaching college is the oldest school in the campus of Vitoria with over fifty years while the faculty of physical education was created 30 years ago in 1986.

This faculty through Dr. Joseba Etxebeste has been director of the Project “Gender perspective and emotions in cooperation-opposition traditional sporting games (I + D + i of the Government of Spain. Ministry of Science and Innovation). Through Dr. Joseba Etxebeste has collaborated on a project funded by the Japanese Government on "synthetic Research on Policy of Sports Culture in Araba, Guipúzcoa, Vizcaya, Navarra and Iparralde". This faculty is also very active researching the link between sporting games and culture (Basque Country, USA, Japan and Algeria), the gender perspective in sports, games and dances, and emotions in traditional sporting games.

University of Murcia

José Ignacio Alonso

The University of Murcia is a public institution for higher education in different sectors. This institution has been doing this work since its founding in 1914. The Faculty of Education was founded in 1992 to train future teachers.  This centre develops studies in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Social Graduate and Pedagogy. It also offers several specialized masters in teaching and researching in the childhood and primary education. The Faculty has very relevant teaching facilities, as teachers halls, classrooms, laboratories, assembly halls and graduations hall. Recently it has developed a doctoral programme in Education in which can be found also some research actions related to this project. Within the Faculty of Education, the Department of Physical education has been developing different masters and doctorate programmes providing research projects to promote traditional games and sports as contents and tools to learn in school physical education.

This faculty through Dr. José Ignacio Alonso has been director of the Project “Gender perspective and emotions in opposition traditional sporting games (I + D + i of the Government of Spain. Ministry of Science and Innovation).
